Amiri, a young art student, arrives at the home of the reclusive artist Marcel Clark for an apprenticeship. Amiri’s idealized preconception of Marcel is quickly crumbled when his histrionic teacher berates him and his art, forcing him into a series of tedious and emotionally probing trials, all in an effort to learn to paint from a place of pure emotion.
